Yesterday was the Brooklyn Market fashion show, and it was rainy, cold and rather chaotic. But from watching the video, it seems like it didn't turn out too bad in the end. A lot more people showed up then I had expected, especially considering how tiny the tent that it was held in was and how much it rained. The location certainly could have been better. Several times the tent nearly blew off.
Since I was one of the models I didn't actually get to see much of the event until after the fashion show. The outfits were pretty nice and they looked good walking down the runway (well.. more like in the center of the tent along poles, but still). The dressing tent however was packed, and the hair person didn't show up, and one of the make up artists was like an hour late. One of the fashion designers filled in to do hair and she was great though and I guess it all got done in the end. And the apple cider was good. And I got a bracelet.
Had dinner at about 8:00 at this good little dinner place in Astoria. The food was great there. It rained horribly and we all got soaking wet walking there.. but I admit... it was a lot of fun.
And that is the quick summery of my day. Ironically today appears to be all nice and sunny. And I plan to stay home and lounge around.

So today (or rather yesterday since it's past midnight) I headed over to the New York Transit Museum with a couple of friends. For those that don't know it, it is located in downtown Brooklyn and the website that has all that information regarding times and directions is www.mta.info/mta/museum/. It was a rainy day which made it quite perfect for wandering about old train cars.
I would highly recommend that anyone in the area visit this place. It was my first time there although I had been meaning to go for quite some time. It is located in an actual train station that had been converted to the museum and in addition to various displays and information regarding the history of the transportation services there are several very interesting things such as old subway cars from the different decades. My only complaint would be that there is no air conditioning and as such it was incredibly hot and stuffy there in August (dressed in a blouse, stockings and a corset). To tie this into fashion, of course, we took numerous photographs.
At one point me and my friends were also approached by an employee and asked if we were doing a photoshoot, but when I replied that we were just taking photographs for personal use (I said for myspace/facebook) he didn't give us any trouble. There were only 4 of us however so perhaps a larger group may have a problem.
The theme we did was more vintage then steampunk and my outfit was honestly something I threw together this morning about an hour before leaving the house, so I apologize if this is off topic. At least perhaps it will inspire anyone else who was thinking of doing a shoot there. Flash photography is not allowed however, so make sure your camera can take photographs in dim lighting. Many of mine blurred and did not come out well for that very reason.

By the way, yes, I actually changed my icon for the first time in years. It is me, swinging and pointing an umbrella, if anyone can tell. And with that I go sleep! Goodnight.

Well this past weekend was the opening day of the New York Renaissance Festival in Tuxedo, NY. It was also the Time Travelers Picnic. Although I did not dress very steampunk for this event (I was more of the Arabian pirate, as my friends described the outfit) I still stopped by and said hello to everyone as well as posed for some photographs and took some myself.
Unfortunately I did not make it to the actual picnic and I believe I missed a large portion of the photoshoot. But here are my photographs.

This weekend was the Totally Normal Event in New Jersey, which I'm sure everyone knows about. Looks like I'm the first one on here to toss up the photos. It was a lot of fun and all of the people were great! We should really do a meetup sometime and another photoshoot. There weren't too many photos on my camera, but here's everything I have uploaded and posted.

So I generally don't have dreams, or at least don't remember them, but on occasions I have some really randomly weird ones. So what happens when you get rp, LARP, WoW, NYC and a post apocalyptic city together... random crazy rp dream. That I felt like sharing.
Basically I played Cari the entire time. And it took place in a real life WoW world, which was a combination of WoW with modern NYC type cities scattered through it and a subway. Cari and Frost (hi Julie! why the fuck am I dreaming about your Frost!?) were kinda stuck together along with some other people on some quest or adventure or something. I don't know what the heck they needed to find, but they all needed to find something. Cari and Frost did not get along and had their usual fun utter mocking of each other. Although they ended up the only two surviving (somehow everyone else died, but I don't remember how). But then they got seperated in the big city and the government/police was hunting them. So some guy who owned a nightclub who was Cari's old friend gave her the place to stay and hide out and she somehow managed to get in contact with Frost and tell him to get his ass there too (cause she doesn't really hate him as much as she says). Then it took her forever to actually get to the place cause the subway wasn't working right and needed to transfer too much. And for some reason my real life friend Mel was at the night club when she got there. It was nighttime when everyone arrived and no one else was there, so they were all just kinda sitting around in the dark being all "uh.. what now?" and.. then I woke up.
I.. don't know why I dream of crazy random shit. But there it is!

Amey: You know, there's a lot of really creepy ideas that can work with the whole concept of surgically switching people's faces.
Mel: I'm... sure.
Amey: Like imagine there's this really rich couple, and their daughter dies, so they pay a really poor woman a lot of money so she'd sell them her daughter and they put their dead kid's face on her and try to force her to -become- their child. How creepy would it be to be that kid?

I haven't posted in here in ages. I have a tendancy to not post unless I have something to complain or angst about. And for the past year I haven't been up for posting all together. I graduated. I've got a BS/MA in Criminal Justice now and I have a beginner field investigator position lined up for July 16th. But other then that I still have no idea what's up with my life. And frankly I'd rather not write about myself. Never did like to much when it came down to serious stuff.
Been hanging out and enjoying the summer lately. Started doing a movie series with my friends. Called Falling Upward. It's fun to play around In Character on video. My chars named Remmy.
I don't do the editing or anything. I'm way too lazy for that. All of it is Mel's work. I just film using my dad's new video cam and run around lots. Tis true! Anyway. I'm bored of posting!

I haven't posted in ages though, heck I just end up posting quizes and random shit now. Don't have all that much to say here really and it's hardly ever that I have time or want to bother with writing journal. I got so many other things I can write or draw or so. However having spilled soda all over my sketchbook (eww it got moldy and all too >.<) I need a new one. At least most of the recent pictures weren't ruined and I just ripped em out and put em in a folder. I've been rping lots on WoW with Gabe and everyone. Plotting stuff and developing the storyline is usually what I end up doing nowadays. Cari's almost level 58 too so that means I can do a lot of high end dungeons now and work those into the plot. And apperantly she has an adopted gnome kid now (O_o). I'd sum up her story until now but I doubt anyone who ever bothers to read my journal gives a damn much. And it would take too long for me too. She's stll with Kem though, but as he's sort of working for the man (main evil guy) on the side and lying to her about it she's not gonna be happy when she finds out (the man's kinda the one who's fucked up her life until now and caused everything).
I've also been doing paperwork for the job I've been applying to part time a lot. Police and criminal justice thing really. I'd be paid 12$ an hour and only gotta work 3-4 days a month. It'd be good for some extra cash plus experience. However I need to pass a medical, psych and agility test for it. And I was put on medical review for cardiac, they fucked up my EKG or something(I know I don't have heart problems and never did). So now I gotta go back in two weeks and redo the EKG when the cardiologist is there >.< I'm not worried but it's more annoying then anything to go back there again (another class day missed and a 3 hour train ride). I took the first part of psychology and then next monday I gotta take the interview part. Kinda worried about that since I haven't ever taken a psych test before and I dunno what they're looking for answer wise. And then sometime among all this is lots and lots of paperwork. Who the heck knew that getting a job was so damn hard.
Overall though, things ain't been too bad. And I've been in a good mood lately for the most part.
30 Seconds to Mars is a kickass band by the way. So everyone's gotta listen to them now.
